Can paralegals provide legal services related to immigration law? This seminar will cover details of permitted services to the public for a fee from Paralegals who are licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. Related issues and how to avoid crossing the line.

    Substantive;

    • Identify the basic principles of Canadian immigration law and understand its policies and procedures.
    • Explain the basic provisions of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and regulations.
    • Develop knowledge in immigration law and policy in various fact situations.
    • Determine the procedures in completing applications for the various immigration procedures.
    • List the various governmental departments, boards and non-governmental organizations in the immigration field.
    • Identify  and apply the Canadian Citizenship Act and its procedures.
