Access & CPD Credit Claims

Upon successful registration, you will receive instant access to your programs. All CDES courses and events are 100% eligible to meet the College’s CPD requirements.

How to Claim Your CPD Credits

In accordance with CICC (College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants) regulations, please follow these reporting guidelines:

  • Reporting Cycle: The CPD cycle runs annually from July 1 to June 30.

  • Submission Process: You must complete the CPD Attestation Form and upload it during your Annual Renewal process via the CICC Online Portal.

  • Important Deadline: The deadline to complete your Annual Renewal and submit your CPD Attestation is June 30. Please note that this deadline is in June, not December.

LSO Compliance (Ontario) To remain in good standing, Ontario lawyers and paralegals must fulfill a 12-hour annual CPD requirement:

  • Professionalism (3 Hours): Must be LSO-accredited content (Ethics, Professionalism, and Practice Management).

  • Substantive (9 Hours): Flexible hours that can be earned through educational seminars, mentoring students/lawyers, teaching, or writing/editing legal texts.

Verify your hours: Visit the Law Society of Ontario for the most current guidelines and reporting portal.

Law Society of British Columbia (LSBC) Requirements

Practising BC lawyers must complete 12 hours of accredited CPD annually by December 31. This must include a minimum of two (2) hours dedicated to professional responsibility, ethics, or practice management.

Access & Reporting:

All CDES programs for BC are designed to meet LSBC accreditation standards. Please ensure you report your hours through the LSBC Member Portal before the year-end deadline to avoid late fees or administrative suspension. For recorded sessions, credit is available for independent online study provided the program includes the required interactive components

CICC Compliance Notice

All Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) are required to complete 16 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) annually. These hours must be earned through CICC-approved activities focused on substantive Canadian immigration and citizenship content.

Please note: Mandatory Practice Management Education (PME) courses provided by the College do not count toward your annual 16-hour CPD requirement.
