Step by step

Logging your credits in the College Portal

  1. Sign in to the College PortalGo to the CICC login page and use your licensee credentials, your RCIC or RISIA number and password, to open your dashboard.
  2. Open the CPD sectionOn the main dashboard menu click Ongoing Education, then select Continuing Professional Development from the submenu.
  3. Open your Learning LogClick Start CPD Learning Log, or Continue CPD Learning Log if you have already added hours. This opens your record for the current licensing year, 1 July to 30 June.
  4. Find and select your activityClick Select Activity. In the search window, type the first few words of the seminar or bundle you completed. If you used a C.D.E.S. bundle, search for the bundle name or the specific course name. When the right activity appears, click Select to link it to your log.
  5. Enter the completion dateThe system fills in the hours attached to that course automatically. You must set the Completion Date yourself: the day you finished the final video or attended the live session.
  6. Add any further hoursClick Add Another and repeat the search for each remaining course. Check that your total meets your annual requirement, 16 hours for RCICs or 6 hours for RISIAs.
  7. Save and submitReview every entry for accuracy, then click Save and Submit to finalise the claim.

Before you submit

Three things the College expects

Evidence stays with you

You do not upload certificates or invoices with a standard renewal. You are required to keep proof of completion for at least five years in case you are selected for a random CPD audit.

Individual activities need approval first

An activity that did not come from a pre-approved provider must be approved by the College before you can select it in your Learning Log.

Submitting is what counts

Completing the hours is not enough on its own. Your status is not in good standing for the next year until the Learning Log is submitted and the rest of your Annual Renewal Form is complete.

If you are audited

What to keep on file

The College conducts random audits through the year. If you are selected you will typically have a short window, often 15 to 30 days, to produce your evidence. If you cannot provide it, your credits may be revoked, which could put your licence at risk. Keep these six items for every course you claim.

  • Proof of registration. The receipt or invoice, confirming the provider name, the date of purchase and the amount paid.
  • Certificate of completion. Your primary evidence. Check that your C.D.E.S. certificate carries your full name, your licence number, the date of completion and the total hours.
  • Course agenda. The course outline or bundle details page, which shows an auditor that the content was substantive and relevant to your competencies.
  • Email confirmations. The registration confirmation and course access emails from C.D.E.S., which timestamp when your access began.
  • Learning materials. Slide decks, handouts or workbooks, saved as PDF. In a deep audit these show active participation.
  • Declaration of completion. If your regulator requires a signed declaration, keep a copy of the signed text or a screenshot of the confirmation page.

If you hold a C.D.E.S. bundle

Our system is reset each year to prepare for the next licensing cycle. Download your certificates as soon as you finish your bundle. Do not wait until the following year to retrieve them.

If the College selects you for a random CPD audit it will normally email you asking for proof of the hours in your Learning Log. A prepared, professional reply makes the process go faster. We keep a template you can fill in and attach your records to: CICC CPD audit response templates.
